How we score laptops

Every laptop is scored on the same rows: screen size, resolution, refresh rate, weight, processor, RAM, base SSD, graphics, rated battery life, ports, operating system, launch price (USD). Measurable rows are normalised across the category and weighted (Performance 25%, Display 15%, Portability 15%, Battery 15%, Ports 10%, Value 20%); rows without a sensible direction are explained, not scored.
