SMART vs GLOBE
Globe versus Smart? Who has better service? Who provides better?
I went to a local reloading station early this morning to buy a P100 Autoload. Just before i left the store, the owner said, “basta galing Manila Globe talaga no(most people from Manila are Globe subscribers, right?).” I was amazed because i thought Globe was lately loosing its subrscribers against Smart. Curiously i asked, “Bakit nyo po nasabi? (why dyo say so?).” She said “kasi napapansin ko lang karamihan sa grupo nyo puro Globe ang pinapaload (most from your group buy Globe Autoload).” And then she continued “alam mo ang dami ng lumilipat sa Globe ngayon”(many switched to Globe lately). I was amazed how she came up with that anaylsis and so i asked, “Pano nyo po nalaman? (how did you know)” She then reasoned, ” kasi dati umaabot ako ng P3,000-P5,000 a day sa mga nagpapaload sa Smart pero ngayon malaki n ang P1,000. Tapos ung globe dati P500 lng sa isang araw kung minsan pero ngayon umaabot na ng P2,000″ (I used to sell P3,000-P5,000 from Smart Autoload before but now , i could hardly sell 1,000 a day. And my sales in Globe used to be P500 a day but lately, it averaged at 2,000 a day)” And so i thought, yah that makes sense. That left me thinking Who has better service, Is it Globe or Smart?
I had been a Globe subscriber since i first had a cellphone way back year 2000. I never had any problems with globe until i went to Basilan, Zamboanga with no signal at all. I thought it was just temporary and hoped i’ll have signals after few minutes or hours. But minutes passed, hours consumed, and another day comes, still with no bars indicating signal on my cp. What made it more disappointing was many of my colleagues who were Smart subscribers were able to call their girlfriend/wife.
I was forced to buy a Smart simcard. Since then on, I used that sim to replace my Globe sim. I had it for couple of years and was satisfied with their services. I mean, well i do have signals every place i visited, not to mention the numerous free calls i got from them(by the way, my friend says SMART again has free calls every 2am-5am, im not just sure though if by the time you read this they still have that promo/privileges or should i say technical problems). And so, i could say SMART had been a dear friend to me for quite some time.
Year 2005 at SM Clark, I lost my cellphone. Neccesity as it is, I bought a new cellphone but this time I opted a Globe Simcard. Why? Well, probably those people around me(mostly people i trust) are good adverstisers of Globe and they convinced a consumer like me to switched to Globe(”,).
Its almost 3 years now, and im more satisfied with GLOBE Services compared before. Although i was not able to visit Basilan again to check if they have setup network connections for Globe subscribers, I am so far contented with the signals i get from GLOBE.
Up to now, I could not say who the better network is, SMART or Globe. Both have satisfied my needs and i thank them for giving me the chance to connect with anyone much faster and more efficient. Although its amusing to hear that, my wife, my father-in-law, few of my co-workers planned to switch to Globe because of the numerous ringtones they had been receiving, which they said they did not subscribe yet consumed most of their load, still BIG thanks to Globe and Smart.
For me, both Globe & Smart has its advantages & disadvantages. They both try to outdo & outsmart one another almost all the time.
Just a suggestion. Why not make a post like, Sun vs TM or better yet, ‘Anong nauna: ang itlog or ang manok?”
Yah, I wanted to compare SUN and TM, yet i dont have a SUN or TM simcard as of the moment. You can perhaps share to me your experiences, I would really appreciate it. I can do perhaps the second one, Itlog or Manok.
hi
yep, basilan already have globe, and some of them are slowly converting their cp to TM since it is cheaper.. im located in zamboanga city, been using globe since 1999 i think. but disappointing now since they claim to have a 3G signal in our city but i don’t feel it with my sony, i bought smart to test if they have better 3G signal and yes it is 100 times better than globe… now im still thinking on switching from globe to smart but it’s kinda hard to switch that easy since all my friends and family uses globe ever since unlimited texting was introduced. and if ever i use smart they will definitely not text me or call me…
true indeed. I heard from my colleagues that globe services in zamboanga city is slowly deteriorating. That’s dad news yet don’t have plans of switching to smart yet.
i had a bad experience with globe just a while ago. I tried their P20 to 20 mins. I made my first call using the 20/20 but the connection was cut after 4:06 minutes. I inquired my credits and i was deducted P20. I tried to call again but after the ring I just heard echos of my voice. I inquired for balance and AGAIN I was deducted P20. In short, I paid globe P40 for a 4 minute call! Is this what you call good service?
You’re right, Super Kainis globe! Im from puerto princesa, Last night, I registered for Globes unlimited call 231! Its soooooooooooooo DISAPPOINTING! I was only able to connect a call ONCE. The call was even disconnected after few minutes. I tried to call again and again(almost every 5 seconds) but I always got a NETWORK BUSY, and ERROR mesage.I did this for MORE THAN AN HOUR! DAMN GLOBE, you just lost another subscriber! Continue you’re POOR SERVICE and I bet you will lose more subscribers.
For me, both Globe and Smart are the best.
The reason why I prefer Globe is because of its prestige and has the image of being “social”. Most of my well off friends are with Globe and most of people I know in lower status (ex. carpenters, tindera etc…) uses Smart.
I recently lost my cellphone and so I’ll be getting a new sim card. I have been a globe user since then and I don’t have any serious complains about it but now I’m thinking of switching to Smart for now… the only reason for me to take Smart is because they can access through facebook or twitter (since I’m usually an Internet guy and I do always browse to facebook)
That is true. Most suburbs like places has few population or most likely near in mountains Globe has the least or no signal at all. If you search and read local newspapers in provinces Globe cell sites were intentionally burned or “arson”. I’m just wondering why no reports of arson on Smart cell sites? Hehehehe

I don’t know why Ayalas are prone to these…Ayala Mall was bombed as well.
am a globe user and i say…am very much satisfied w/ the service, it has a year round promos w/c always give away load to its subscribers, thanks globe!
To all the Western Visayans (Region 6), I must say the Globe’s 3G signal is generation ADVANCED compared to Smart’s 3G coverage. I had a tour to IloIlo, checking out that the only city that has a 3G coverage is only its CAPITAL. And it is Globe. Antique so far is unavailable to 3G services because it does’nt have 3G coverage, whether Smart nor Globe. Negros Ociidenatl Island, with its capital Bacolod City has a full 3G coverage, Smart and Globe with Sun still UNAVAILABLE. But Globe is more powerful comparing to Smart’s 3G. Perhaps Negros Occidental is ENTIRELY completed with Globe’s 3G coverage except Hinigaran and Silay City. With Negros Oriental, Smart’s 3G is POOR as hell. Also same as Negros Occidental, Globe 3G also ENTIRELY covers Negros Oriental.
IloIlo: Globe 3G: Only CAPITAL city
Smart 3G: Still unavailable in this entire island
Negros Oriental: Globe 3G: ENTIRELY covered
Smart 3G: available only in Dumaguete (capital)
Negros Occidental: Globe 3G: ENTIRELY covered (except. Hinigaran and Silay City)
Smart 3G: available in Bacolod City (capital), Silay City and some
CONCLUSION: Globe 3G coverage is ADVANCED compared to Smart. Smart, although has its full 2G strength (but not 3G). Sun Cellular 3G is UNAVAILABLE in the entire Region 6 (Western Visayas). Guys, Don’t be a Sun carrier, it is so BAD. It does’nt provide it’s own towers to provide signals but it is installed in high buildings.
haix… kapagod.. galing talaga ng GLOBE NETWORK.
@ eunice: im sorry i cancelled one of your comment because of some foul words. I know you are very upset with smart, i feel the same way but im really sorry i dint post it. however, i’ll post it here in comments without the words i mentioned, ok? God bless you!
EUNICE SAYS: smart network is so sucks!!! subscriber aq ng both network, globe and smart. pero ang smart, sobrang bulok ang sistema… they always claiming, they are the No.1 mobile network provider, goodness! hindi nga masagot ng customer service nila ang mga conerns ko, di nila ko natulungan about dun sa problema ko sa network nila, yung mga e-load nila sucks!!! kinain kaagad ng smart, kainis, tapos nare-imburst nga, 30php. yung bumalik… pa load ako ng 50php. bumalik 30php. kaya, GLOBE parin talaga ang best mobile network provider para sa kin. kaya kayo mga smart subsciber, pag isipan ñong mabuti kung saan talaga kayo makakamura ng halaga sa pag-papaload.
ako satisfied ako w/ smart since the 90’s or around 1997 subscriber na ako. coverage excellent minsan ng try ako ng globe pero hindi ko na niloadan ulit coz pag dating sa voice quality poor siya malabo may echos or sometimes call will be disconnected. while smart network clear parang landline.
